Mission Director HADP, Shri Rahul Yadav Reviews Progress on Establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) Across Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, TDD ,Mission Director Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP), Shri Rahul Yadav, today chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu, to review the progress on the establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) across Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting focused on the operational status of the Phase 1 KKGs, the progress of Krishi Udyamis (KUs), the status of Phase 2 KKG establishments, and the skilling of farmers and Kisan Sathi applicants through the Daksh Kisan Portal.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Directors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, and Fisheries from Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners (DCs) from all districts, Chief Agriculture Officers, officials from SKUAST-K and SKUAST-J, Technical Officers, APD, and other concerned officers. Several outstation officers and stakeholders from Kashmir joined the meeting via video conference.

During the meeting, Shri Rahul Yadav reviewed the progress of KKG establishments in various districts, urging the concerned authorities to expedite the installation of IT infrastructure at designated sites to ensure the timely operationalization of these centres. He emphasized the need for broadband connectivity, the issuance of seed and fertilizer licenses, installation of P.O.S. machines, and the implementation of the KKG software cum portal across the region.

The Mission Director also stressed the importance of completing the tender process for Phase 2 of the KKGs and directed the Deputy Commissioners to promptly notify the list of Krishi Udyamis to facilitate the functional setup of the centres within the designated timelines.

Highlighting the significance of KKGs as an innovative initiative under the HADP scheme, Shri Yadav described the centres as a “one-stop solution” for farmers, offering essential services and addressing their grievances. He emphasized that the KKGs will bridge the gap between farmers and essential agricultural services, fostering sustainable agricultural practices and driving economic growth in the region.

Calling this initiative a pioneering project, the Mission Director urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively and diligently for the successful implementation of the KKGs. This initiative is expected to have a profound and lasting impact on the farming community across Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring better access to resources and services for farmers.TDD
