Mission Director JJM Reviews Progress of Jal Jeevan Mission in Ramban

Ramban,DD, Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, conducted a virtual review of the implementation of JJM in Ramban district today. The meeting focused on the progress of various projects under execution and challenges affecting their timely completion.

During the review, officials presented a detailed progress report, revealing that 93 water supply schemes are in different phases of execution in the district, out of which 28 have been completed. Additionally, 276 civil works—including bore wells, Slow Sand Filtration Plants, General Service Reservoirs, and pipeline networks—have been allotted, with 52 projects completed so far.

Addressing delays due to harsh weather conditions, land acquisition issues, forest clearances, and pending payments, Shah directed officials to expedite the stalled works and ensure timely completion to benefit the public. He also emphasized the urgent need to complete the Har Ghar Certification process for reported villages within 10 days, in accordance with National Jal Jeevan Mission guidelines under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

The Mission Director stressed the importance of strict supervision and monitoring of ongoing projects to prevent further delays.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from Jal Shakti, JJM consultants, the Technical Officer to the Chief Engineer (Jammu), and representatives from the Third Party Monitoring Agency (TPIA).DD
