Srinagar: With an objective of enhancing the capacity, efficiency, and overall output of its workforce, the authorities of Doordarshan Kendra and Akashvani Srinagar imparted hands-on training to its staff through a comprehensive online platform – iGOT Karmayogi or Mission Karmayogi.
DDK and Aakashvani are two verticals of Prasar Bharati, India’s Public Service Broadcaster.
iGOT Karmayogi is an online learning platform being developed as an integral part of the Digital India stack for capacity building of all government employees.
It will provide ‘anytime-anywhere-any device’ learning to train around 2.0 crores users which was so far unachievable through traditional measures.
The training programme was designed to strengthen professional competencies, improve domain knowledge, and foster a performance – oriented work culture among employees.
Through structured learning modules, interactive sessions, and practical insights, the initiative focused on equipping staff with modern skills aligned with evolving organizational and technological requirements.
Under the process of imparting training to the staff of Doordarshan and Akashvani Srinagar, batches of officials from both offices were constituted and trained on different dates as part of Mission Karmayogi, which is also being identified as the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building.
One-day training sessions were organized for each batch through a combination of online and offline modes. The training was imparted under the guidance of Master Trainer H. P. Meena, DDG/HOO, who conducted sessions for various batches at Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar and Akashvani Srinagar, assisted by Promod Kumar, DDE; Satish Vimal, PEX, AIR; and Sanjay Koul, Senior Accounts Officer, DDK Srinagar.
So far, a large number of employees of DDK Srinagar and Akashvani Srinagar have been trained and the process is continuing. The first batch of 32 staff members from DDK Leh and Akashwani Leh Cluster was also trained by the Master Trainer on 17th December.
Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized that the training reflects Prasar Bharati’s commitment to continuous learning and human resource development.
By aligning with the vision of Mission Karmayogi, the organization aims to build a future-ready workforce capable of delivering high-quality public service broadcasting.
The initiative received enthusiastic participation from staff members, who appreciated the focus on skill enhancement, innovation, and productivity. Such capacity-building efforts are expected to contribute significantly to improved operational efficiency and service delivery across Prasar Bharati’s platforms.
The National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPSCSB) aims to embark on a learning transformation program that will address the capacity building issues of the Civil Services through a comprehensive online platform – iGOT Karmayogi.DD
