Kishtwar, TDD : Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar including District Child Protection Unit, Child HelpLine (1098) today launched an anti-child labour drive aimed at identifying children in street situations, those involved in child begging, and child labour in town area Kishtwar.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Zubair Ahmed Lone , the District Child Protection Officer (JKAS) of Kishtwar.
During the drive, the shopkeepers and owners of other business establishments including Dhabas,Restaurants, Welding shops were awared about the child abuse, child labour under established procedures of Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, 2015.
The authorities have made it clear that legal actions will be taken against those who will engage children in work.
Additionally, it is pertinent to mention here that the drive included a session of awareness for employers and business owners, urging them not to employ anyone under the age of 18. The authorities emphasized that such practices are illegal and strongly discourage the exploitation of children in any form.
