Rajouri,(DD): MLA Budhal, Javed Iqbal Choudhary, today voiced his strong criticism over the mishandling of the mysterious illness affecting residents in Budhal. He particularly highlighted the inadequate response from the Principal of GMC Jammu, which he said has worsened the situation.
Choudhary pointed to the ‘dual power structure’ in Jammu and Kashmir as a key factor that has hindered a swift and coordinated medical response to the ongoing emergency. According to the MLA, the fractured decision-making process has caused significant delays in addressing the critical health concerns of affected individuals in Budhal.
One of the affected girls is in critical condition and requires urgent transfer to PGI Chandigarh for advanced treatment. However, Choudhary expressed frustration that the Principal of GMC Jammu has not taken prompt action, which he claims has further escalated the crisis.
“The lack of urgency and the apparent negligence shown by GMC Jammu is putting lives at risk. Immediate intervention is necessary, particularly in such a critical health emergency,” the MLA said.
Choudhary also urged that an ambulance be kept on standby in either Jammu or Rajouri to facilitate the immediate transfer of critically ill patients. He called for better preparedness, quicker decision-making, and improved coordination to ensure that no more lives are lost due to medical delays, emphasizing the need for authorities to prioritize the health and well-being of the public.DD
