Jammu,(DD)In view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 and recent intelligence inputs regarding threats from anti-national elements (ANEs), a high-intensity mock drill was conducted on Monday evening at the Static Guard post near Ravi Bridge, Lakhanpur, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station GRP Kathua.

The drill was jointly organised by the Government Railway Police (GRP) Jammu in collaboration with GRP and RPF Pathankot, Punjab, covering 14.7 kilometres of railway track in the area. The exercise aimed to assess and enhance preparedness against possible terror attacks targeting vital infrastructure, particularly rail assets during the high-security Yatra period.

The simulation began at 1710 hours and concluded at 1810 hours, involving over 130 personnel, including officers and officials from multiple security, medical, and emergency response agencies.

Participating units included:

All participating units underwent pre-drill briefings and post-drill debriefings, ensuring coordination, response timing, and operational clarity among agencies.

The mock drill was conducted under the guidance of SHO PS GRP Kathua, Inspector Ajay Engotra, under the close supervision of SDPO Railways Vijaypur, Sh. Harmohinder Singh, and under the overall supervision of SSP Railways Jammu, Sh. Shalinder Singh (JKPS).

Officials said such exercises are crucial for maintaining inter-agency synergy, improving ground coordination, and ensuring all forces are fully prepared to deal with any threat to the security of the Yatra or critical infrastructure(DD)
