Katra, DD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a fierce attack on Pakistan, labelling it the “enemy of peace, development, and humanity” during a rally in Katra, shortly after dedicating the Kashmir rail link project to the nation.

Referring to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians—mostly tourists—Modi said Pakistan’s aim was to damage Kashmir’s economy and ignite communal tensions across India. “Tourism connects people, but our neighbouring country has always tried to disconnect humanity,” the Prime Minister said. “Pakistan attacked the soul of Kashmir and humanity.”

Modi cited the killing of a poor labourer named Adil, who was shot for resisting terrorists, as a stark reminder of Pakistan’s intentions. “It was not just an attack on the innocent—it was an attack on Kashmiriyat, Insaniyat, and the poor man’s livelihood,” he added.

The Prime Minister hailed the resilience of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for rejecting terror and standing united. “The people of J&K have given Pakistan a clear message—we will not surrender to fear, and we stand for peace and progress.”

He also referred to the recent Mela Kheer Bhawani as a symbol of communal harmony returning to the Valley. “There was a time when schools and hospitals were set ablaze by terrorism. Today, youth in Jammu and Kashmir are not just dreaming—they are building their future,” he said.

Recalling India’s retaliation under ‘Operation Sindoor’, Modi said, “Just a month ago, terrorists in Pakistan witnessed their doomsday. Our forces entered deep into enemy territory and destroyed their terror camps. Pakistan never expected such a response. Now every time they remember Operation Sindoor, they’ll remember their defeat and humiliation.”

On support for border residents affected by Pakistani shelling, PM Modi announced Rs 2 lakh assistance for fully damaged houses and Rs 1 lakh for partially damaged ones—additional to existing compensation. “Border residents are our first-line citizens. We’ve built bunkers, formed new battalions, and improved infrastructure to protect them,” he said.

Calling on youth to innovate in the defence sector, Modi said India aims to become a global defence exporter. “Operation Sindoor has showcased the strength of our forces and the power of Make in India. I urge young innovators to help secure the nation and create employment.”

Sending a clear warning to adversaries, PM Modi concluded: “No force in the world can stop the development of Jammu and Kashmir. If anyone dares to disrupt progress, they will have to face Modi first.”(DD)
