Motor vehicle gang busted in Jammu

Jammu:TDD,J&K police in subdivision East and South of City South Zone of Jammu District have busted a motor vehicles lifter gang under Operation Avatar and recovered more than 20 vehicles

On 25.10.2024 a complaint was lodged in police station Bahu Fort by complainant Pritam Singh with regard to theft of his scooty bearing Registration No. JK08 E 4106 and accordingly, case FIR no 268/2024 U/s 303(2) BNS was registered at police station Bahu Fort Jammu and On 06/11/2024 a complaint was lodged in police station Bahu Fort by complainant Suraj Kumar with regard to theft of his Bullet Motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK02 CQ 0992 and accordingly, case FIR no 285/2024 U/s 303(2) BNS was registered at police station Bahu Fort Jammu and investigation taken up.

During investigation of both cases a special team of police was constituted by SDPO East DySP Sheezan Bhat and SDPO South Kartik Shrotriya under the supervision of SP South Ajay Sharma and the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Sh Joginder Singh

The special team collected dump data for technical analysis, collected CCTV footage and also studied pattern of few suspects. After obtaining certain leads two suspects namely
1) Dheeraj Singh S/o Deepak Singh R/o Kanji House Gummat Jammu.
2) Hem Raj S/o Hans Raj R/o Ramkote, Kathua
were arrested for questioning and during interrogation Hem Raj S/o Hans Raj R/o Ramkote, Kathua have confessed his involvement in case FIR no 268/2024 U/s 303(2) BNS and Dheeraj Singh S/o Deepak Singh R/o Kanji House Gummat Jammu confessed his involvement in number of theft cases and On the disclosure of accused persons stolen scooties and motorcycles has been recovered by special team consisting of SHO Bahu fort, Bagh e bahu, Gangyal, channi himmat, Ghandinagar.
Another case FIR no.291/2024 U/s 303(2) BNS of police station Bahu fort Jammu registered and a Truck Bearing registration No. JK02 AH 3711 has also been recovered.

The approximately value of recoveries is more than one crore.
Since the investigation is under way more arrests and recoveries are expected in near future also.TDD
