UDHAMPUR :DD,The Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with the Health Department, organized a free health-cum-eye check-up camp and awareness camp on road safety today at Bus Stand Ramnagar in Udhampur District.
A large number of bus and minibus drivers and conductors participated in the camp, availing facilities such as eye checkups for color-blindness and visual defects, as well as tests for blood pressure, diabetes, and hemoglobin levels.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Udhampur Jugal Sharma emphasized that the aim of organizing such medical camps is to raise awareness among drivers about the importance of personal health and hygiene for the well-being of society.
He added that these camps will be conducted regularly in the future, recognizing the crucial role of drivers in passenger safety and the importance of maintaining good health.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the drivers for their enthusiastic participation, acknowledging the demanding nature of their profession and the potential for neglecting personal health. They highlighted that the primary purpose of the camp was to provide accessible healthcare to this vital workforce.
Sharma also briefed the participants on essential road safety parameters and emphasized the significance of road safety in protecting human lives.DD
