Multiple Pakistani Posts Open Fire Along LoC in Kashmir; Indian Forces Respond, No Casualties Reported

Jammu, (DD):In a serious breach of the ceasefire agreement, multiple Pakistan Army posts opened unprovoked small arms fire on Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of April 25 and 26.

The firing reportedly took place simultaneously across several sectors, suggesting a coordinated provocation by Pakistani forces. Indian Army units posted along the affected areas responded appropriately and in a restrained manner, using small arms to avoid any escalation.

“There have been no reports of casualties or damage on our side. Our troops exercised restraint while responding effectively to suppress the enemy fire,” a senior defence official confirmed on this morning.

Despite the sudden aggression, local civilian populations remained unharmed, and there has been no reported damage to infrastructure in border villages.

This incident marks a fresh violation of the February 2021 ceasefire understanding between the two nations. Defence analysts note that such provocations have seen a resurgence in recent weeks, raising concerns over stability along the volatile LoC.

The situation is being closely monitored by Indian security forces, who remain on high alert to counter any further misadventures from across the border.(DD)
