Mulwarwan in Smoke:Devastating Fire Leaves Ramzan’s Family Homeless ahead of Planned Weddings of his daughters, son

Kishtwar,(TDD): Mohammed Ramzan, a laborer from Mulwarwan village in Kishtwar district, has been left devastated after a tragic fire destroyed his home on October 14, 2024.

The fire couldn’t have struck at a worse time for Ramzan, who had been preparing for the upcoming weddings of his two daughters and son, scheduled for November 5, 2024.

Ramzan, a father of three, shared his anguish, recounting how all the items painstakingly arranged for the weddings were lost in the blaze.
The family’s home and all their belongings, including the goods and gold ornaments meant for the ceremonies, were reduced to ashes.

With their home gone and winter fast approaching, the family is now grappling with the challenge of rebuilding their lives. The loss has left them homeless and uncertain about how they will reconstruct their home or replace the essentials for the upcoming weddings.

Support has slowly begun to trickle in. Local NGOs and government agencies have started providing relief, offering winter clothes, utensils, medicines, and other necessities. However, the road to recovery seems long and uncertain for Ramzan’s family and the other affected residents of Mulwarwan as they face the harsh realities of the coming winter. (TDD)
