Kishtwar, DD: In an early morning enforcement drive, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar, led by Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Rakesh Kumar under the supervision of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) KishtwarTasleem wani, conducted a rigorous crackdown on Dang-Doru Dachan-based vehicles and passenger buses arriving from Jammu.
During the operation, two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK17A 5098 and JK06 4501 were seized for operating without valid fitness certificates. Additionally, 54 vehicles were e-challaned for various violations, including overloading and unauthorized transportation of goods in passenger vehicles. The expected total fine from these challans amounts to ₹1,85,100.
In a stern move to enhance road safety, the department has also recommended three driving licenses for suspension due to serious traffic violations.
The MVD Kishtwar has reiterated its commitment to ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and has urged vehicle owners to adhere to safety norms to avoid legal action.DD
