Kishtwar, (DD): As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar, led by ARTO Tasleem Javaid Wani (JKAS), in collaboration with the Health Department, organised a free medical camp for drivers, transporters, and cleaners at the Main Bus Stand, Gulabgarh Paddar. The event also saw the presence of BMO Paddar Dr. Anil Sharma and SHO Paddar Amrit Katoch.

Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Wani highlighted the significance of the initiative, aimed at promoting road safety and ensuring the well-being of the transport community. “More than 100 drivers, transporters, and cleaners benefitted from a comprehensive medical check-up, including eye examinations, and were also provided with free medicines,” he said.

In addition to addressing the immediate health needs of participants, the camp served as a vital platform for raising awareness about road safety. Drivers and transporters were educated on the importance of adhering to safety guidelines, maintaining vehicles, and practising safe driving.

ARTO Wani further emphasised that such initiatives are essential for creating a safer road environment and urged transporters to prioritise both their health and road safety measures to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.(DD)
