Udhampur,TDD,Udhampur city was filled with spiritual fervor as Sikh Sangat (Devotees)
organized a grand Nagar Kirtan procession to commemorate the upcoming 555th Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev which will be celebrated on Friday, November 15, 2024. The procession, which took place today, showcased the deep-rooted faith and devotion of the Sikh community.
The Nagar Kirtan was a mesmerizing spectacle, with a large number of Sikhs, including women and youth, participating enthusiastically. The procession traversed through the heart of the city, passing through key areas like Ram Nagar Chowk, Hospital Road, Salian Talab, Chabutra Bazar, Main Bazaar, and other prominent areas.
The Nagar Kirtan was organized by District Gurudwara Prabandak Committee, (DGPC) Udhampur.
The procession was led by the revered Panj Piyare, adorned in traditional attire. The entire city was beautifully decorated, and locals set up stalls offering fruits and sweets to the participants.
The atmosphere was filled with the melodious recitation of Kirtan, and the Sangat distributed Prasad among the public. Sikh youths also showcased traditional martial arts, adding a vibrant and dynamic dimension to the procession.
The Nagar Kirtan concluded at Shree Gurudawara Singh Sahib, leaving a lasting impression on the community and marking the beginning of the celebrations for the upcoming Parkash Utsav.
