Udhampur:TDD, In a significant blow to the narcotics trade in Jammu and Kashmir, Ramban police have successfully foiled a smuggling attempt and apprehended a suspected drug dealer.
During a routine vehicle check at naka Shan in Ramban, police intercepted an auto load vehicle carrying a substantial quantity of a substance resembling charas. The driver, identified as Farooq Ahmed, was arrested on the spot.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 32 chillies of the suspected contraband, weighing approximately 500-600 grams. Police have registered a case against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The seizure of this substantial amount of narcotics is a testament to the relentless efforts of Ramban police in combating drug trafficking in the region. Investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the drugs and any potential associates involved in the smuggling operation.TDD
