Leh, DD, The National AYUSH Mission (NAM) celebrated the 7th edition of ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ at PHC Chuchot on April 10, 2025. The program focused on nutrition in the first 1000 days of human life, popularisation of the Beneficiary Module in the ‘Poshan Tracker App’, and promoting a healthy lifestyle to address obesity in children.
The program began with Dr. Stanzin Noryang, Medical Officer Homeopathy, sensitizing participants about the importance of nutrition for children in the first 1000 days, including the importance of nutrition for potential mothers planning to bear a child.
Ms. Sonam Yangtso, Community Health Officer (CHO), emphasized the need for a balanced diet for mothers and children. Further, Dr. Kunzes Dolma, Sowa-Rigpa Doctor, highlighted traditional nutritional foods of Ladakh for mothers and children to control and address obesity. Dr. Stanzin Lhaskyabs, State Programme Manager, NAM, spoke about the Beneficiary Module in the ‘Poshan Tracker App’ during the program.
The program concluded with a remark by Mr. Mohd. Bakir, Health Educator. As a part of the nutrition and healthy diet program, fresh fruits were distributed to all attendees to promote the message of the event. Around 60 participants from adjoining areas joined the event.DD
