Kishtwar, TDD,A National Conference (NC) delegation, under the leadership of Shahan Sajjad Kichloo, met with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar to address the issue of offline attendance for MGNREGA workers in Pora, Chandali, Gahan, and Angara areas of Sarthal block.
The delegation highlighted the difficulties faced by workers due to the lack of quality network connectivity in these remote areas, which has made the online attendance system highly impractical. The issue has significantly affected the livelihoods of MGNREGA workers, as attendance discrepancies often lead to delays in wage disbursement.
Taking the matter seriously, the concerned officials assured the delegation that the issue would be treated as a priority. In response, the department promptly took necessary measures to fulfill the demand for offline attendance in these areas, providing much-needed relief to the local workforce.
Shahan Kichloo appreciated the swift response from the administration and reiterated NC’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the people of Kishtwar, particularly those living in remote and underserved regions.TDD
