NC Govt fails to fulfil its manifesto promises: Suraj Singh Parihar

Says poor quality of work on highway has become a death trap for commuters-locals

Diplomat Correspondent

RAMBAN: DD, Expressing anguish over the neglecting the issues confronted by the people in twin assembly constituencies of Ramban District, the independent contested candidate from Ramban Assembly Constituency, Suraj Singh Parihar has condemned the failure of the National Conference Govt to address the growing concerns of the people regarding poor execution of works on Jammu-Srinagar Highway, and the fulfilment of the promises made in the manifesto of the ruling regional party.
Addressing a press conference here, Parihar warned that the Govt will face the anger of the people, who are deeply disappointed with the failure of the Govt in implementing its promises it made in the National Conference
He stressed upon the National Conference to implement its manifesto promises otherwise, the people will hit the road. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the Budget presented by the ruling party of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the National Conference had promised restoration of political and legal status of J&K, generating 1 lakh jobs for the unemployed youth, and passing of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Employment Generation Act within first three months of Govt formation, fulfilment of all the vacant posts in each Govt Department, 200 units of free electricity to each household.
However, it appears that the Govt has cheated the people of Jammu and Kashmir with its failure to fulfil the promises. He said that 200 units of electricity is being provided to a category of people, while denying the same to others.
He also criticised both the MLAs of Ramban assembly constituency and Banihal assembly constituency for their constant silence over the public issues, development, and worsened condition of the highway.
He said that poor quality of work was executed all along the Banihal to Ramban District on Jammu-Srinagar Highway and it has threatened the commuters, and the lives of the locals, who live there.
He said that the people have complained of cracks in their residences, and the protection walls constructed by the companies have also been damaged due to the rains.
“The poor quality of work shows how the MLAs concerned have completely failed to highlight the concerns of the people,” he said, expressing displeasure over the inability of the legislators to raise voice of the people in the ongoing assembly session.
He demanded that the accountability of the officials shall be fixed so that the people do not suffer, and the highway be made safe for the commuters and the people in Banihal, and Ramban.DD
