Srinagar, (TDD): Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today elected the senior NC leader Abdul Rahim Rather as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly unanimously.
The Legislative Assembly met after a gap of ten years in Srinagar at 10:30 am after which Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Cooperatives, Javid Ahmed Dar moved Abdul Rahim Rather, a member of the Assembly, for the Speaker’s position.
Arjun Singh Raju seconded the motion. He was unanimously elected by the House as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
Rather has remained J&K Finance Minister for multiple times.
Following the Speaker election, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir will address the Assembly at 11:30 a.m– (TDD)
