Kishtwar,DD, National Conference (NC) leaders on Wednesday called on the Principal of Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar, raising strong objections over the recent organization of political events within the college premises. They expressed dismay at the alleged use of the academic institution for political purposes, claiming it violates the sanctity and neutrality expected of educational spaces.

The NC delegation particularly questioned the administration’s decision to allow events organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Kisan Mazdoor Sangh, which were presided over by senior BJP leaders, including MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma. “Allowing such partisan events on campus sends a wrong message and undermines the non-political nature of educational institutions,” on

They urged the college principal to ensure that the campus remains a neutral space for learning and not a platform for political propaganda. The delegation also warned of student unrest if such practices continue. The NC leaders demanded strict adherence to academic protocols and urged the administration to take measures preventing any future misuse of the college premises for political gains.DD
