Srinagar: DD, A twelve-day Army Attachment Camp for NCC Cadets concluded on October 17, 2025, at Somgarh Military Station (old Air Field), Srinagar. The camp was meticulously organised under the combined aegis of the Chinar Corps, Chinar Air Defence Brigade and coordinated by 9 J&K Girls Battalion, Srinagar part of JK&L Directorate.
The camp saw the enthusiastic participation of 117 NCC cadets, comprising both boys and girls from various educational institutions across Jammu & Kashmir. Its primary objective was to provide the cadets with valuable first-hand exposure to the professional way of life, ethos, and rigorous training standards of the Indian Army, thereby instilling core values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork.
Throughout the training period, the cadets engaged in a diverse array of activities. They were given an opportunity to witness and operate state-of-the-art military equipment and attended interactive sessions focusing on leadership development, life-saving skills, and career opportunities within the Armed Forces. A major highlight was the visit to cutting-edge facilities, including the Drone Lab and the 3D Printing Lab.
The camp featured co-educational training, successfully promoting mutual respect, coordination, and shared learning among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. The cadets displayed exceptional zeal and discipline while participating in demanding activities such as sports, Physical Training (PT), Drill, and vibrant cultural events.
A grand Closing Ceremony was organised by the NCC Cadets comprising of a meticulously planned cultural programme which was attended by Commander of AD Brigade along with large No of senior Army officers and ladies of Old Air Field station. The cultural programme celebrated the culmination of a journey marked by transformation, unity, and motivation.
A Prize Distribution Ceremony was also organised by the AD Brigade in which cadets who excelled in various events and competitions were awarded medals and prizes thus further motivating them. Cadets departed with a renewed sense of enthusiasm, deeper understanding of Army life, and a stronger commitment towards Nation Building.
Such initiatives by the Indian Army play a crucial role in shaping the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, empowering them to stand united, inspired by the spirit of peace, progress, and patriotism.DD
