Jammu : DD, A total of 34 cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate attended the Military Hospital (MH) Attachment Camp at 166 MH, Jammu, held from 18 to 29 September 2025. The camp was organised with a special focus on disaster management and healthcare training, keeping in view the recent challenges faced during Operation Sindoor and subsequent disaster relief operations in the region.
The primary objective of the camp was to provide cadets with practical exposure to medical assistance and emergency response in real-life situations. During the training period, cadets were equipped with essential skills such as disaster preparedness, casualty evacuation, first aid management, basic life support (BLS), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Special emphasis was also laid on instilling teamwork, coordination, and prompt decision-making abilities among the participants.
Senior officers and instructors from the 166 MH guided the cadets through various hands-on sessions, simulations, and demonstrations. The training not only enhanced their medical knowledge but also prepared them to act as first responders in times of crisis. By participating in this camp, cadets gained a deeper understanding of the role of medical services in disaster relief and the importance of discipline and service towards the nation.
The attachment provided them with invaluable lessons in healthcare support, leadership, and humanitarian service, thereby strengthening their commitment to the motto of the NCC – Unity and Discipline.
Such camps continue to serve as a vital bridge between the armed forces and young cadets, fostering responsibility, resilience, and readiness to contribute to society in times of need.DD
