Srinagar: DD, The Rulling National Conference (NC) on Monday filed nomination papers for all four Rajya Sabha seats, completing its slate for the October 24 elections amid a dispute with the Congress over seat allocation.
Party Leaers said that senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan (former minister), Sajad Kichloo (former Minister of State) and Shammi Oberoi (NC treasurer) had submitted their papers earlier in the day, and Imran Nabi filed his nomination later, completing the party’s quartet.
Congress leaders, who had sought one of the first three NC seats, said the NC offered only the fourth seat to them an arrangement they rejected. “We asked for one among the first three seats, but were offered the fourth seat which we consider less secure,” a Senior Congress leader told KNC, expressing disappointment over the allocation.
