Kishtwar, DD, Elections were held yesterday for various posts, including the President of the Sanatan Dharm Sabha Thakraie. A large gathering of members participated with great enthusiasm and unity. Shri Jagdish Raj Shan, Retired Captain, was unanimously elected as the new President of Sanatan Dharm Sabha Thakraie.
Today, under the leadership of Captain Jagdish Raj Shan, the newly elected members of the Sabha met with Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), to highlight several pressing issues concerning the Thakraie block.
Special emphasis was laid on the immediate need to stop illegal mining activities being carried out by certain mafia groups near the Shamshan Ghat Thakraie. Members expressed concern that unchecked mining could cause irreparable damage to the Shamshan Ghat’s infrastructure, potentially disturbing public peace and posing law and order challenges. ADC Kishtwar, Mr. Pawan Kotwal, listened attentively to the delegation and assured that appropriate action would be initiated against the violators.
Additionally, the delegation also met with Additional Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Pardeep Singh Goria (JKPS), and submitted their memorandum of demands. ASP Goria assured full support and cooperation from the police administration to address issues related to law enforcement and public safety.
The Sanatan Dharm Sabha Thakraie expressed satisfaction over the positive response from the district and police administration and hoped for swift action on the issues raised.DD
