Kishtwar,DD; In a decisive move against traffic violations, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar Tasleem wani along with Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Rakesh and his team, conducted a late-night enforcement drive against overloaded trucks and dumpers on the Kishtwar-Drabshala route near Shalimar and Hasti.
During the operation, 12 vehicles were e-challaned for various traffic violations, including overloading, with an estimated fine amounting to ₹1,08,000. The crackdown aimed to curb the menace of overloading, which poses serious risks to both lives and road infrastructure.
The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar has sent a strong message through this action, urging transporters to comply with regulations to ensure road safety and protect public resources. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will continue against violators to maintain discipline on the roads.DD
