Health officials credit extensive screening, vaccination programs for effective management
Jammu , TDD,Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a significant milestone in the fight against Hepatitis B, with no recorded deaths from the disease since 2018. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has attributed this achievement to the implementation of robust screening and vaccination programs under the National Health Mission.
The National Viral Hepatitis Control Program has been instrumental in preventing vertical transmission, screening high-risk groups, and ensuring blood safety. While progress has been substantial, challenges persist, particularly in areas with limited testing facilities. Continued efforts are necessary to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure the eradication of Hepatitis B in the region.TDD
