Srinagar, (DD): Amid rising concerns over the safety of Kashmiri students following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said his administration is in active coordination with other states to ensure their protection.
In a post on X, Omar wrote, “The J&K government is in touch with the governments of the states where these reports are originating from. I’m also in touch with my counterpart Chief Ministers in these states and have requested they take extra care.”
The remarks follow reports that several Kashmiri students have faced threats or been targeted in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident. Omar Abdullah assured that the government is committed to safeguarding every Kashmiri citizen living outside the Union Territory.
“We will not tolerate any harm to our youth studying or working outside J&K. Their security is a top priority,” he emphasized, calling for calm and urging other state governments to act with responsibility and compassion(DD)
