Shift of Offices to Jammu from November 3

Srinagar: DD, The Jammu and Kashmir Government, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, on Thursday announced the much-awaited Darbar Move, fulfilling a promise made in the party’s manifesto.
Govt ordered the annual shifting of offices from Srinagar to Jammu for the winter season 2025–26, with formal closure dates announced for all departments.
According to the official Government Order No. 1357-JK(GAD) of 2025 issued by the General Administration Department as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, all five-day week offices will close at Srinagar on October 31, and six-day week offices on November 1. All offices will reopen at Jammu on November 3, 2025.
The order states that certain offices will move in full strength, while others will shift in camp mode with limited staff. The Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) will arrange transport for employees on November 1 and 2, ensuring support vehicles and police escorts along the route.
The Police Department has been tasked to provide security and ensure priority passage for the convoys through both major tunnels connecting Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, medical aid facilities will be established en route at Qazigund, Banihal, Ramsu, Ramban, Chenani, Udhampur, and Jhajjar Kotli.
The government has sanctioned a Special Move TA of ₹25,000 for each moving employee, while advance pay will also be provided to eligible non-gazetted staff.
The order also directs that the Winter Secretariat shall operate at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar during the season.
The directive issued by the,Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, reiterates that no employee shall occupy government accommodation in Jammu without proper allotment. (KNC)
