Omar visits fire-victims at Warwan, Says affected must get PM Relief Fund, urges PM to cover them under PM Awas Yojna

Assures two fire stations, ambulance in area, says let people get their houses back after that DG recruitment will take place

Warwan (Kishtwar),(TDD): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today visited the fire-affected families of Warwan area of Kishtwar and stated that he has requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release funds for rehabilitation of victims from the PM’s Relief Fund.


Omar also said that the J&K government will also provide assistance to the affected families while as they should get benefits under PM’s Awas Yojna as well.


Omar, along with deputy chief minister Surinder Choudhary, visited Warwan area earlier today, where almost 80 structures were razed to rubble due to the deadly blaze on October 16. Addressing the fire affected people, Omar said what is the fun of going for DG recruitment when there is no shelters on the head of people of Warwan.
“We will ensure that at least two fire-stations are set up in the area and also keep an ambulance ready here to meet challenges,” Omar said.
The Chief Minister said that he has requested PM to release funds under PM’s Retaliation Scheme while as rest will be done by the J&K government.
Replying to a query, whether the affected families can be covered under PM’s Awas Yojna, Omar said he forgot to mention the same in speech.
“I believe all the affected families should be covered under PM’s Awas Yojna. The J&K government had announced some assistance for the victims. I have raised the amount today,” he said.
Omar said let the people of Warwan get their houses rebuild after that DG recruitment will be done in the area as promised by him in the election campaign.(TDD)
