‘Advocates Punjabi subject in every school, Urges Sikh brethren to pray for restoration of Statehood to J&K’

Jammu, (TDD) Stating that Sikhs are part and parcel of Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that time is not far when Sikhs will have due representation in the J&K Legislative Assembly.
“I am saying this in front of the sacred Guru Granths that Sikhs will have due representation in the Assembly soon, ” Dr Farooq said addressing the members of Sikh community at Jammu on the occasion of Guru Purab.
He said things will only be smoother when Statehood is returned. “You pray for the return of Statehood to J&K, ” the NC chief said.
He also said that Sikhs are inseparable part of J&K as a collective society. “You have equal rights on everything in J&K as any other citizen, ” Dr Farooq said.
He said that Punjabi language should be taught in all schools where there are good number of Sikh students.
“More Gurudwaras should be constructed by the Sikhs with their own hands, ” he said and greeted the Sikhs on the occasion of Guru Purab–(TDD)
