Jammu: DD, An encounter today broke out between security forces and the terrorists in the hilly area of Basantgarh in Udhampur District.
Acting on the intelligence inputs about the movement of terrorists, the defence spokesperson said that a joint anti-terror operation was launched by the Indian Army and J&K Police at Bihali forests of Basantgarh.
As the operation was launched, the defence spokesperson said that a contact with the terrorists was established and an exchange of fire took place.
Till the filing of this report, the counter-terror operation was in progress.DD
