Anantnag,(DD): In a major success in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized over 30 kilograms of Charas powder during a series of coordinated overnight raids in Wantrag village, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mattan.

Acting on specific intelligence, police teams conducted raids at three separate residences in the area. The largest recovery—23.33 kilograms of Charas powder—was made from the home of Jehangir Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Abdulla Khan. Additional raids at the residences of Reyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Sher Afzal Khan, and Nowshad Pathan, son of Kastiya Pathan, led to the seizure of 3.67 kilograms and 3.9 kilograms respectively.

All three individuals have been arrested, and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered. Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and further arrests and recoveries are expected.

These successful operations form part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s intensified drive to root out drug trafficking and substance abuse from the region. The police have reiterated their commitment to creating a drug-free society and have urged the public to share any information regarding illegal drug-related activities.(DD)
