CHISHOTI (Kishtwar),DD: In the ongoing relief and rescue operation at the cloudburst village Chishoti in Padder, Indian Army has started construction of a bridge across the Chishoti Nallah that had washed away in the flash flood, and mudslides.
The officials said that in continuation with relief operations at Chisoti village, the troops of White Knight Corps have intensified rescue and relief efforts.


“Engineer Bridging Teams of the White Knight Corps along with equipment have started construction of bridge at the site of Chisoti Nallah,” the officials said, informing that the troops of 17-Rashtriya Rifles have been working day and night to help restoration disconnected areas, and the recover the missing persons.
On the other hands, the NDRF/SDRF, CRPF, J&K Police teams have also been working shoulder to shoulder with the volunteers from Ababeel, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Buddhist Community, and local population from across the section of society to relief and rehabilitation.
These young men in uniform and without uniform have been trying hard to recover the missing persons from the debris, and from under the huge boulders that are being drilled (drilling machines) and lifted with the help of JCBs.
The cloudburst has killed approximately 65 people, and more than 70 are still missing. So far, the authorities in District Hospital in Kishtwar have referred 75 injured persons to the Government Medical College, and Hospital, Jammu for specialized treatment.DD
