Srinagar, (DD):In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, senior political leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has urged authorities to ensure justice is upheld during the ongoing crackdown, cautioning against actions that may harm innocent civilians.
Talking to mediamen in Srinagar, Ruhullah said, “If an innocent person gets caught in this crackdown, it defeats the whole idea of justice. The action should reflect justice, and the innocent should not be dragged into it.”
His comments come as security operations intensify across several districts in Jammu and Kashmir. While the government has vowed a strong response, there are rising concerns from civil society and political voices about the risk of sweeping measures impacting the wrong people.
Ruhullah emphasised that counter-terror actions must be rooted in fairness and accountability. “Terror must be condemned and confronted, but not at the cost of civil liberties or due process,” he added.(DD)
