Srinagar,DD, In a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Mandir Committee of Gangyal today organized a Yagya to offer prayers for those who lost their lives and to seek blessings for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Later, BJP J&K General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta addressed the media at the venue. Expressing deep anguish over the incident, Gupta stated, “We strongly condemn the cowardly attack on innocent civilians. Such acts of terror are a direct assault on the peace and unity of our nation, and the perpetrators will not be spared.”
He further emphasized India’s long-standing ethos of peace and non-aggression, while also asserting the country’s right to self-defense. “India has never attacked any country out of hatred or contempt, but if our interests are threatened, we will not hesitate to take a big step,” Gupta added.
He further highlighted the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to national security, noting several strong measures taken in response to repeated provocations from Pakistan. He also asserted that Pakistan’s support to terrorism is a global threat. “This government has not stayed silent. We have taken steps like keeping the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, cancelling SAARC visas for Pakistani citizens, among others — sending a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated,” Gupta said.
Speaking to the media, Baldev Singh Billoria expressed profound grief and condemned the heinous act in the strongest terms. “This cowardly attack is not just an assault on individuals, but on the very spirit of our nation — a nation built on unity, resilience, and peace.”
He called on the people to remain united adding, “Terror has no justification. Such violence will only strengthen our resolve to defeat it in all its forms. We must continue to support our security forces and stand firm against any attempt to destabilize our peace.DD
