Jammu, (DD): A delegation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, led by BJP MP Brij Lal, arrived in Jammu today to review governance standards and mechanisms for addressing public grievances across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The panel, comprising around 6–7 MPs, will also travel to Srinagar in the coming days. During their visit, the members will interact with government officials, PSUs, and other stakeholders to evaluate ongoing projects and service delivery frameworks.
The delegation’s itinerary includes a visit to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine to assess the challenges faced by pilgrims and review infrastructural facilities. “We will meet the CEO there and understand the issues devotees face. Discussions will also be held with institutions like PNB and Power Grid,” said Brij Lal.
In Srinagar, the MPs are scheduled to meet both administrative officials and representatives of public sector undertakings to monitor development progress.
MP Brij Lal also referenced Operation Sindoor, a military strike launched in retaliation for the killing of 26 Indian citizens in Pulwama. Highlighting its strategic and diplomatic success, he noted, “We gave Pakistan 15 days to act. When they didn’t, we conducted a precision strike which was appreciated globally.”
The visit reflects Parliament’s increased focus on citizen-centric governance and responsive administration, especially in sensitive and strategically significant regions like J&K(DD)
