Peer Mitha Police arrests accused in Prem Nagar murder case

Jammu: DD, Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully apprehended the individuals involved in the assault and robbery incident that occurred on March 9, 2025, at Prem Nagar, Jammu.

On March 10, 2025, Garrison Gill, son of George Marshal, a resident of Christian Colony, Jammu, reported to Police Post Gujjar Nagar that on the previous night, at approximately 11:40 PM, he and his companion, Akash Gosh, son of Prem Raj, a resident of 4/228 Ravi Nagar Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, were attacked while purchasing groceries at a shop in Prem Nagar.

The accused, identified as Aryan Mattoo alias Goni, son of Sameer Mattoo, a resident of Christian Colony, Jammu, initiated a scuffle with the complainant and Akash Gosh. During the altercation, Aryan summoned his brother, Addy alias Bakam, and cousin sister, Dyna, wife of Nahid, to the scene.
The trio assaulted the complainant and Akash, with Addy alias Bakam wielding a sharp-edged weapon and forcibly taking a gold ring from the complainant. The accused fled the scene after committing the crime.

In response to the complaint, a FIR No. 10/2025 was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha under sections 307, 126(2), 115(2), 3/5 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and section 4/25 of the Arms Act.

During medical treatment, the complainant succumbed to his injuries, leading to the addition of section 103 BNS to the investigation.

A dedicated police team was constituted, led by the SDPO City North, Jammu, and assisted by the SHO of Police Station Peer Mitha and In-Charge Police Post Gujjar Nagar, under the overall supervision of the SP City North, Jammu.

The team conducted extensive raids at multiple locations across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and in other states, including Amritsar and Delhi. After relentless efforts, the accused were apprehended and have been remanded to police custody.

The swift and decisive action taken by the Jammu Police has garnered widespread appreciation from the general public. Community members have lauded the police force for their prompt response and effective investigation, which led to the timely arrest of the accused. Such commendations reflect the public’s trust and confidence in the law enforcement agencies’ commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
