JAMMU: DD, The Pesticide Testing Laboratory (PTL), Jammu has achieved a prestigious milestone with its accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025, marking a significant step toward strengthening agricultural quality assurance and analytical excellence in the region.
The remarkable achievement has been realized under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta and Agriculture Chemist Jammu Vinod Sharma, whose continuous support and vision have been instrumental in upgrading the laboratory infrastructure and aligning it with international testing standards.
The Director Agriculture Jammu congratulated the entire team of PTL Jammu for their dedication and professional excellence. He stated that this accreditation is a proud moment for the Department and a testament to its commitment to ensuring quality control in agricultural inputs. He added that the laboratory’s enhanced credibility will help safeguard farmers’ interests by ensuring that only genuine and standard-quality pesticides reach the market.
The Agriculture Chemist Jammu expressed gratitude to the Directorate and the laboratory team for their coordinated efforts in achieving this milestone. He emphasized that the accreditation will further improve the accuracy and reliability of testing results, thereby contributing to evidence-based decision-making and quality assurance in the agriculture sector.
The officers also acknowledged the contribution of Assistant Agriculture Chemist Jammu Ravinder Gupta and the whole team of the Pesticide Testing Laboratory including Research Assistant Tarminder Singh; JAEO Vikas Gupta; JAEO Inderdeep Singh; JAEO Adarash Anand Thaploo and JAEO Raman Preet Kour.
The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation reaffirms PTL Jammu’s commitment to providing reliable, precise and internationally recognized testing services. This milestone will greatly benefit farmers, agro-input suppliers, and other stakeholders across the Union Territory by ensuring the availability of quality-assured pesticides and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.DD
