PHE Daily Wagers extend strike for 72 hours after warning from DyCM

Diplomat Correspondent
JAMMU: DD, The PHE daily wagers have extended their strike for 72 hours, demanding their regularisation in the service, a day after the warning from the Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary.
The daily wagers have been holding protest rallies in Jammu since the last two / three days in support of their demands for regularisation of their services, implementation of the minimum wage act, and release of pending wages.
To press their demands, the daily wagers have extended their ongoing strike for 72 hours.
Yesterday, the Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary had raised questions, while interacting with the reporters, as to why the protest rallies of the daily wagers continue even as the Govt has constituted a panel under Chief Minister Atal Dulloo for their regularisation.
He had warned that the protesters may face action if they continue their agitation. Pertinently, the daily wagers have been working in different departments of the J&K Govt since the last two decades by various governments in Jammu and Kashmir.DD
