New Delhi, (DD)In a decisive move underscoring India’s tough stance on national security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a high-level security meeting in the national capital, focusing on counter-terrorism operations and the internal security landscape.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, was attended by senior ministers, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as heads of intelligence and paramilitary forces.

Reviewing the current situation—particularly in Jammu and Kashmir and other sensitive border areas—Prime Minister Modi reiterated his government’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism. He gave security forces a “free hand” in their operations, assuring them of the government’s full backing.

“I have full faith in the capabilities of our brave forces. They have always risen to the occasion and will continue to do so,” the Prime Minister said during the closed-door meeting, according to top sources.

He emphasized that the fight against terrorism must be relentless and result-oriented, stating that India’s enemies would be dealt with firmly and decisively.

The meeting comes amid recent intelligence inputs suggesting heightened threats along the Line of Control and increasing cross-border attempts to infiltrate armed militants. Sources suggest the Centre may ramp up both defensive preparedness and offensive counter-terror strategies in the coming weeks.

Political analysts view the meeting as a strong message to both domestic and external actors that the Modi government remains committed to its national security doctrine and will not tolerate any compromise on the country’s sovereignty.

With heightened alertness and a green signal for action, the coming days are expected to witness intensified operations across key flashpoints(DD)
