Kishtwar, TDD,In its ongoing drive against the menace of drug, J&K Police District Kishtwar arrested a drug peddler at Model Naka Dhrabshalla and recovered 5.71 grams of heroin-like substance (“chitta”) from his possession.
SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS, stated that during routine Naka checking at Model Naka Dhrabshalla led by IC Model Naka under the supervision of Dy. SP Headquarters, Dr. Ishan Gupta, the Naka team noticed the suspicious movement of an individual coming from Thathri towards Dhrabshalla. On spotting the police party, the suspect attempted to flee but the team swiftly apprehended.
During his personal search Naka party recovered of 5.71 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. The accused disclosed his identity as Saleem Javed, son of Javed Iqbal, resident of Zewar, Kishtwar.
In this regard a case FIR No. 11/2025, U/Sec. 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar. The investigating officer has been directed to probe the backward and forward linkages of this drug network.
SSP Kishtwar reaffirmed the J&K Police’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace and urged the public to support the police in this mission. He assured that the identity of informants would remain confidential and announced suitable rewards for those providing credible information.TDD
