Poonch:DD, In a swift and decisive action, the Poonch Police have arrested two individuals involved in a violent assault incident that took place on May 2, 2025.
The accused, identified as Touheed Parry and Toyab Sheikh, were apprehended following an extensive manhunt and rigorous search operations launched immediately after the crime.
The duo were involved in a brutal attack on a local youth, Yassir Ahmad Chisti, near Madrasa Zia Ul Uloom in Poonch. Armed with a sharp-edged weapon (Toka), the accused severely assaulted the victim and fled the scene. The injured youth was promptly given medical attention, and the matter was taken up with utmost seriousness by the district police.
Accordingly, a case was registered under FIR No. 73/2025 at Police Station Poonch under sections 109 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Intensive investigation and coordinated field efforts led to the arrest of both accused, underscoring the Poonch Police’s unwavering commitment to justice and public safety.
While the investigation is ongoing, Poonch Police sternly warns certain social media handlers who are attempting to propagate false narratives and mislead the public. Such acts not only hamper the integrity of police work but also constitute a legal offence. Individuals indulging in the dissemination of misinformation are hereby advised to desist from such unlawful behavior. Strict legal action, as warranted under the law, shall be initiated against those found spreading baseless and malicious content.
