283 grams of heroin, cash Rs 20 lakhs & swift car seized: Police

Jammu:DD, In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Police today achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of two apprehending drug peddlers in Bishnah.
Acting on a specific input, a police team from Police Station Bishnah laid a naka at Sikandarpur Kothey – suspected drug hotspot – where the police intercepted a swift car bearing registration number JK02BB – 9853.
During the checking of the car, police said that they seized 283 grams of heroin and cash Rs 20 Lakhs and 2 thousand rupees from the vehicle. Instantly, the police also arrested both the persons i.e., a man and his son-in-law.
The police have identified them as Sadiq Ali alias Jattu, son of Roshan Din, resident of Handey Chal, Marheen District Kathua and Saif Ali alias Safu, son of Noor Ali, resident of village Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah, Jammu District.
The accused Sadiq Ali is son-in-law of accused Saif Ali, the police stated, while informing that their questioning is expected to provide further leads on the supply chain and distribution network of the contraband.
“The investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the recovered contraband. Police are thoroughly examining both the backward and forward linkages in the case,” police informed.
Additionally, a financial investigation has been initiated to trace the proceeds of illegal narcotic trade and take appropriate legal action.
A case in this regard has been registered under FIR number 69 of 2025 at Police Station Bishnah under sections 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act.
The operation was led by SDPO R. S. Pura, Gurmeet Singh, SHO Bishnah Inspector Sushil Choudhary, PSI Darshan Singh and PSI Purshotam Kumar under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu, Irshad Hussain Rather.DD
