Jammu:TDD, Police Friday claimed to have arrested a J&K Police constable along with his two wives and seized banned drugs, and mobile phones.
Acting on inputs, a police team raided at the house of a police constable namely Parwaiz Khan at present Gujjar Mohalla in Janipur and recovered approximately 33 grams of heroin (Chitaa) like narcotics, 22 mobile phones, weighing machine, Rs 25640, foil papers and other paraphernalia used in making small bits of chitta/heroin for further selling to innocent youths of the area for gaining undue profits from sale of narcotics.
Following the recovery, the police team from Police Station Janipur arrested the police constable and his two wives.
“Both the women (wives of the police constable) were assisting him in making bits and further selling to their clients in the local area,” the police revealed in the statement.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 128 of 2024 under section 8/21/22/29/27A NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
Police said that the arrested constable is posted in crime (wing of J&K Police) and has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the Janipur Police is also doing his financial investigation as he has acquired two houses at Janipur and accumulated huge property.
“The police are also in process to attach his illegitimate property which is proceeds of narcotics,” he added.
The police stated that the arrest of their own cop namely Parwaiz Khan has proved that police are duty bound to save the innocent youth of this country from the menace of drug abuse and zero tolerance to peddlers who are doing this immoral trade which has resulted in many youths’ death due to overdose.
Police’s swift action and apprehension of this black sheep has been appreciated by the public.TDD
