Kishtwar: DD,A delegation from District Kishtwar, comprising representatives from the Kishtwar and Padder – Nagseni assembly constituencies, met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at his office in the Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
The delegation was led by Pooja Thakur, Chairperson of the District Development Council (DDC) Kishtwar.
The deputation presented a detailed charter of demands, emphasizing the region’s critical needs.
Their key demands included establishing a Women’s College in Kishtwar, setting up Degree Colleges in Dachhan and Drabshalla, sanctioning ITI Colleges for Nagseni and Dachhan; introducing new subjects at the University Campus in Kishtwar.
They also demanded an air ambulance for Kishtwar to facilitate emergency medical evacuations.
The demands also include the deploying adequate staff in Degree College Padder and Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) at Atholi, Ligri, and Ishtiyari, as well as Doctors and paramedical staff at CHC/PHC Padder.
The opening of a bank branch at Kijai and installing ATMs at Karthai and Sohal, and deploying adequate staff at Degree College Marwah and CHC Marwah.
After giving a patient hearing, the Chief Minister assured them that all the demands would be addressed promptly to ensure the welfare and development of the region.
The deputation included notable members such as Shahan Kichloo (senior media analyst), Babu Lal Bhandari (ex-sarpanch), Janki Nath (block president, Padder), Mool Raj (vice president), Gurdesh Kumar, and others.DD
