Poonch, (DD) Brigadier Mudit Mahajan, Commander of the Poonch Brigade, stated today that the Indian Army launched a precise and powerful response to cross-border aggression during Operation SINDOOR, and remains fully prepared to act again if provoked.
Speaking at a press briefing, Brigadier Mahajan emphasized the central role played by the Poonch Brigade in the operation. “We did not merely react—we were ready to respond with determination and accuracy. The Poonch Brigade was not just involved; it was the driving force of Operation SINDOOR,” he said.
Addressing the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, backed by Pakistan, Brigadier Mahajan revealed that the Army’s response was calibrated and initially targeted terrorist infrastructure. “Six of the nine key terrorist sites struck were located opposite the Poonch, Rajouri, and Akhnoor sectors. These were neutralized on the same night,” he said.
He further noted that the Army only shifted focus to military targets after Pakistan escalated by targeting civilian areas. “When enemy drone swarms entered the fray, our Army Air Defence responded with exceptional coordination and accuracy, neutralizing every threat with professionalism.”
According to Brigadier Mahajan, the Pakistan Army suffered significant losses both in personnel and morale. “Their credibility has been severely damaged, even within their own ranks,” he added. While final casualty figures are still being verified, intelligence suggests substantial damage on the other side.
“Operation SINDOOR is not concluded—it is currently suspended,” Brigadier Mahajan stated. “But the Indian Army remains vigilant. If provoked again, we will respond decisively—not with words, but with action and the resolve of the nation.(DD)
