Poonch, TDD, Poonch Police have successfully recovered 6 grams of heroin-like substance during a routine operation in Potha area. The suspect identified as Shakeel Ahmed, a resident of Mohra Bachai, under Police Station Surankote, was apprehended on the spot.
The operation was conducted based on specific intelligence inputs about suspicious activities in the region. Acting swiftly, a police team intercepted the suspect and recovered the contraband substance during the search. Shakeel Ahmed has been taken into custody for further investigation.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the concerned police station. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the source and possible links of the suspect to drug trafficking networks.
