In a significant development, security agencies in J&K have started to probe as to why the National Conference MLA from Sonawari didnt stand up for the national anthem at SKICC when national anthem was being played post swearing in ceremony yesterday.

The controversy erupted just a day after Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of J&K UT.
Sources in the security establishment told the Diplomat. Digital that Lone was seen sitting on the while all in the hall were standing during the national anthem. “A probe has been ordered and CCTV footages are being collected as a proof that Lone didn’t stand up during the national anthem,” they said.
When contacted Lone cited medical condition for not standing up during the national anthem. However, just minutes before the oath taking ceremony, he was seen giving interviews to many television channels. Lone while speaking to media men had stated that Omar Abdullah taking the oath as the Chief Minister of J&K was a great beginning and that his party has to work for the restoration of Statehood.
Omar was yesterday sworn in as the first CM of J&K UT along with five council of ministers that include Surinder Chowdhary, who was administered oath as Deputy Chief Minister of J&K. Surinder defeated J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina from Nowshera constituency. Other four ministers who took oath were Sakina Itoo, Javaid Rana, Javaid Dar and Satish Sharma, who fought as an independent candidate from Chamb and later extended support to NC—TDD)
