Prof. Umesh Rai Re-appointed as VC JU for Three-Year Term

Jammu :TDD,Prof. Umesh Rai has been reappointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu for another three-year term. The order, issued by Chancellor Manoj Sinha on December 13, 2024, states that the appointment will take effect from April 5, 2025, after the expiry of Prof. Rai’s current term.
The re-appointment was done under Section 12 (5) of The Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969. It can also be a vote of confidence in Prof. Rai’s administration that this succession goes on to indicate stability at the governance of the university for years to come. The appointment order, as indicated by number LGS/19/SC/JU/2021/5603-5610 maintains one of the premier educational institution’s administrative continuity in that region,TDD.
