Provocative utterances of Leaders helping anti-India forces: GL Raina

The Diplomat Desk

Jammu :TDD,The provocative and potentially dangerous statements by the leaders of Kashmir-centric political parties like NC and INDI-alliance are helping anti-India forces, stated Girdhari Lal Raina.

Girdhari Lal Raina, former MLC & Spokesperson, J&K BJP, accompanied by party spokespersons Adv. Purnima Sharma and Rajni Sethi, was addressing media persons at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

“Strong action against over ground workers (OGW) leading to snapping of the nexus between terrorists, ISI, stone-pelters and separatist sympathizing politicians along with shattering funding channels through coordinated efforts of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and revenue intelligence were effective tools to substantially bring down terrorist violence in Jammu Kashmir post-2019”, said Girdhari Lal Raina.

Raina said that Law enforcement agencies were able to work efficiently without bias or prejudice is also an established fact. This situation is being sought to be reversed by ‘vested interests’ after elections and the formation of an ‘elected government’ in the UT, he cautioned.

Ministers, elected representatives, and leaders of NC and INDI-alliance are issuing irresponsible statements that are helping the narrative of ISI and the terrorist groups operating in Jammu-Kashmir. These statements are used by enemies of the country to revive separatism and radical terrorism.

Speculative statements by raising doubts about terror incidents from people holding responsible constitutional positions or suggesting “Terrorists should not be killed, they should be caught and asked who is behind them” are actually aimed to deflect the attention of people and sort of payback to partners of ‘same page’ politics.

Official data corroborated by independent agencies have explicitly shown that there is a more than 70% decline in terror incidents. Since 2020 there has been a steady decline and the number of such attacks on security forces fell to 95 in 2021, 65 in 2022, 15 in 2023, and five so far in 2024, the data shows. Civilian safety has been the prime concern for the Modi government and security agencies are putting maximum emphasis on that. This policy of maximum restraint has resulted in a significant decrease in civilian casualties.

Raina further said that Bharatiya Janata Party appreciates the role of security forces, including J&K Police, that are doing a commendable job in preventing Jammu Kashmir from being pushed back to the era of death and destruction.

Preventive action like NIA raids on OGW suspects, arresting of supporters of terrorism, busting of terrorist hideouts, and seizing of arms and ammunition is reassuring the safety & security of people besides maintaining unity and integrity of the nation, added Raina.TDD
